I was born and raised in a small coastal town in southern Maine. I am the youngest of three, and an only son, who grew up under the watchful eye of
two older sisters. Up until high school, I attended public school and then in
high school, went off to a small private day school…when I say small, my graduating class was 28. While stifling at times, it taught me that a hands-on, one-on-one education can make a difference. I also played sports—tennis, skiing, track and field. My summers were spent in northern Maine at our
cottage in the lakes region, and as I got older, I attended summer
camp…eight weeks on the coast of Maine.
Looking back, I could not ask for a more perfect childhood. My parents taught
me to value all that Maine had to offer, however, we were always reminded of the world beyond, and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity while in school to travel to Russia, Spain, Thailand, as well as numerous trips around the U.S.
I attended a small liberal arts college in the Midwest and moved to NY shortly after graduation. Before arriving full-time in New York City, I headed off to Europe on my own for three months…eating cans of beans and sleeping outside was certainly an adventure. (No worries, I have now graduated to a more safe and comfortable forms of travel.)
Since moving to New York City, I have pursued a career in public relations and public affairs…I am currently employed with a large jewelry retailer that I feel honored to be working for and truly value the company and the products we create. I have two loving parents, a strong network of friends and colleagues, and above all, a loving husband and dog to share my life with.
I thrive at work but also look forward to the weekends, when Steve, Sadie and I spend quality time together. I enjoy cooking, yard work, reading, hosting friends, movies, and biking, but nothing makes me happier than walking my dog in the back corn field on a beautiful morning. I am currently learning golf but am also active with tennis, skiing, biking and am contemplating doing a marathon of sorts…maybe a 5K to start.
I plan to take time-off when the baby arrives but will continue working to support the family.
Carson is caring, supportive, generous, and will make the most incredible father. He has a great sense of humor and has never lost the sense of child inside of him. Carson is smart, funny, adventurous, compassionate and strong. I take comfort in knowing that no matter what happens around us, Carson will stand by my side with unconditional love. Every day of my life with Carson, I feel loved and so lucky that we are together.
